Spain: Valencia

Square

Valencia, Spain is located on the edge of the east side of Spain next to the Mediterranean sea. Valencia is the third largest city in Spain behind Madrid and Barcelona.  The name Valencia came from the word “Valentina” which means strength in English.  Weather in Valencia can be hot.  The maximum temperature is 42 degrees Celsius.

I visited Valencia on April 11, 2019.  We met our friend Kate Hickey there.  She also lives in Valencia.  Kate has a travel blog called Hickeys Everywhere (hickeyseverywhere.com).  Here’s a picture of me and Kate.

Then we went to a tapas restaurant.  Tapas is a bunch of little foods.  Here’s a picture and my review of the tapas restaurant.

The tapas place was not my favorite but I wanted to try something different.  Then we decided to go check out a market nearby.  We walked through a bunch of little stalls.  Then we got some fresh orange juice and Spain’s national food – paella.  Paella is a rice bowl with vegetables, chicken and sometimes rabbit.  Here’s some pictures in the market and my paella review.

The paella was not my favorite either but I still appreciated trying the foods.  Then we said goodbye to Kate and we went back to the boat.  Kate was a great tour guide and I had a great time in Valencia.  Next time you will here about Marseille/Cassis in France.  “bye”.
