Trip to the Wright Brothers Memorial in Kitty Hawk

IMG-0532Wednesday November 21, 2018.  We are going to the Wright Brothers Memorial.  It’s where the first ever flight took off.  They were Orville and Wilbur.  It’s in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.  They chose Kitty Hawk because of the sand and the wind.  Their first flight was 12 seconds and 120 feet.  Their fourth flight was 59 seconds and 852 feet.  They were impressed with how far they flew.  I had a great time exploring the Wright Brothers  Museum in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.

Here is the website for the Wright Brothers Memorial.  And here’s a video of me trying to fly and some more pictures:

  4. That’s so awesome, Connor. My family is from Dayton Ohio and that’s where the Wright brothers were born and grew up. I drive by their old home all the time. It’s the home where they did their research and designed their plane!!! Can’t wait to here about your next adventure.

  6. Connor,
Thanks for reminding me of our trip to Kitty Hawk where we went many years ago with our children, Allison, Kristen and Mitchell. It was very much fun and it looked like you enjoyed it also.
